So easy and affordable non-bake Yema Cake

You can now cook your most craved yema cake, good news is.. it's non-bake!


Ingredients:

For the cake
-Cake mix (Maya or Betty Crocker)
-1 cup water
-3 eggs
-1/4 butter

For the Yema filling
-2 cans of condensed milk
-1/2 tbsp of almond extract (*optional*)
-1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
-1/4 butter
-6 egg yolks

Grated cheese for topping.




Steps:

1. Put cake mix in a bowl
2. Add 3 eggs

3. 1 cup water
4. 1/4 butter

















5. Mix well all ingredients




















6. Grease moulder with oil



















7. Pour cake mixture onto the moulder
8. Cook cake on a steamer for 20 minutes
*Tip: you can also cook the cake on a rice cooker




















9. After 20 minutes, insert a knife (or toothpick) you'll know if it's cooked when there's no cake residue going with the knife.



















Now for the Yema filling:

10. Put 2 cans of condensed milk in a skillet
11. Add 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
12. Add 1/2 tbsp almond extract
13. Whisk under low fire

14. Add 1/4 butter
15. Add 6 egg yolks, whisk until thick.
16. Turn off stove once you get the thickness of the filling, set aside.





















17. Cut the cake into 2 parts
18. Spread the Yema filling
19. Spread on the outside part of the cake too.
20. Put grated cheese on top, serve with tea or pack for your kid's recess!
